Cisco 678 DSL Modem Bridging

Q: How Do I Configure the Cisco 678 DSL Modem for Bridging Mode?
A: Login with Hyperterminal For Instructions on Hyperterminal click Here, otherwise, follow the instructions below.

(Login With Hyperterminal, Hit enter twice.) (Hit Enter after each command)

• enable (if asked for a password, just hit enter)
• set nvram erase
• write reboot (wait for it to reboot, Hit enter)
• enable (if asked for a password, just hit enter)
• set bridging rfc1483 enabled
• (with ethernet cable unplugged!)
• set int wan0-0 close
• set int wan0-0 vpi 0
• set int wan0-0 vci 32
• set int wan0-0 open
• write
• reboot (after it reboots, unplug the unit, wait for 25 seconds)

(plug it back in and let it come all the way back up)

Note: Bridging is needed for special cases only. Lonetree suggests PPP.
