Website Hosting FAQ
Q: When
I register my domain with you do I own my domain name or do you?
A: You own the domain, Lonetree
Internet Services is only the technical contact. Remember, domain
ownership fees must be payed to the company which the domain name
is registered (e.g. BetterNIC).
Q: I
want to host a new website (or move an existing website) to Lonetree.
What changes do I need to make?
A: The
information you will need for the setup or transfer of a website
to the Lonetree Domain is the DNS Addresses of our servers.
DNS 1 - tomcat.lonetree.com
DNS 2 - ns2.lonetree.com
NIC Address - no292-org
Q: I
currently connect to you using Frontpage® 98 and I just upgraded
to Frontpage® 2002 will I still be able to access my site?
A: Yes you will still be able to access your site and
take in all the benefits that Frontpage 2002® offers. Lonetree's
Web servers carry the later versions of Frontpage 2002® extensions.
Q:
I have started using FrontPage 2002® to edit my website and when
I try to save certain pages and settings on my site I get an error
message about FrontPage® extensions. How do I solve this?
A:
Errors involving FrontPage 2002® may be caused by not having FrontPage
extentions loaded on your website. Although all of our servers offer
FrontPage® capability, because other programs exist for maintenance
of websites (e.g. Dreamweaver®, Notepad, MS Word® etc.), FrontPage®
extensions are not automaticly installed on every website. Please
contact us and let us know that you need your website setup for
use with FrontPage®.
Q:
I am having difficulty accessing my website with the username that
I was given. Is there something that I am not doing correctly?
A: Check
your spelling. Then try 'lonetree\<username>'. If neither
of these things work, please notify us immediately so that we can
check out the problem. |
