IMail E-mail FAQ's

Q: How do I access my Web Based E-mail?
A:
In your internet browser type in http://mail.yoursite.com:8383, from here you enter in your user name and password. Where yoursite.com is the domain name of your website.

Q: I keep getting a bad user name and password error when trying to get my E-mail.
A:
Depending on the web hosting plan you might need to have your username your full E-mail address i.e. username@yoursite.com
Some E-mail programs can not have the @ sign in the username field, if this occurs you can use one of the following characters instead.  !,#,$,%,^,&, or *

Q: Can I configure another E-mail client to check my E-mail, such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, etc..
A:
Yes, when configuring E-mail clients use mail.yoursite.com as the incoming mail server. The outgoing mail server should be the mail server of your internet service provider.

  • Help setting up your Outlook Express can be found here.
  • Help setting up your Outlook 2000 can be found here.

Q: I get a "Not local host, not a gateway" error when trying to send E-mail through Lonetree, how do I correct this?
A:
You are probably trying to send E-mail through our mail server while not connected to our network.  All our mail servers will reject email sent that does not originate from our network. To correct this use the outgoing mail server of your internet provider.

Q: How do I set up my mail so that I can "catch" all the mail that goes to anyone@mydomain.com?
A:
Add the Alias 'nobody' (without quotes) then point the alias to the account you want all the mail to go. i.e. webmaster@mydomain.com
