Bandwidth by Referring Site

The Bandwidth by Referring Site report shows bandwidth for the specified report period broken down by the referrer of the visit. For example, a visitor referred to your site by a search engine may request files totaling 150 KB. In this case, LiveStats includes this amount in the total bandwidth for this search engine.

The Bandwidth by Referring Site report helps you determine which referring sites generate the most activity—in terms of bandwidth—on your Web site.

It can also help you identify sites that are linking directly to downloadable files on your site. For example, if a site shows up at the top of this report but does not show up in the Referrers by Entry Point report, it indicates that a relatively few visitors from this site are accounting for a disproportionate amount of bandwidth.

If you have set up your site to require visitors to supply personal information before downloading, then a direct link to a downloadable file allows visitors to bypass the information form.

Note: Bandwidth refers to the size in bytes of all files transmitted by your web server.
